TWS upgrade

If you are still using an old version of TWS, you need to upgrade to version 940 or above to use the API.

You can download the upgrade directly from the IB website or you can get a stable upgrade here – 941.2b

    Hello Larry:
Since upgrading TWS platform as per IB’s bulletin all API programs have stopped working. (Ninjatrader and Bracket Trader) It seems others are having this problem as well. I have tried uninstalling everything and reloading according to the instructions on the Bracket Trader website to no avail. Interactive’s solution to getting NT to work was to download TWS, (an older version 944.3), from the Ninja website. After doing this I can connect to NT but Bracket Trader still does not work. Not sure where to go from here. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you
    Bob

    Hi Bob,
The problem is not in the TWS but in the API.

You can go back to the API BT uses by uninstalling the TWS_API from the Control Panel. However, the uninstall does not remove everything. You have to also manually delete the C:\TWS_API folder and the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\TwsSocketClient.dll file

    Then reinstall the API 970.06.
