Using BT with IB's IdealPro Forex

Larry:

I would like to start using BT with Interactive Brokers Ideal Pro's Forex.

I noticed the EUR.USD symbol is already included in the symbols List but my questions are:

1) for the base currencies that are USD (ie USD.CHF) ... when Adding Symbols ... is the Point Increment still 1 ? .. or is it some other value ?

2) for the # of Contracts for each Forex Pair ... is BT smart enough to know that when I Add a new Forex symbol in BT .. that IB's minimum Lot size for EUR is 20,000 GBP 15,000 AUD 35,000 etc .... or if not, does the minimum Lot sizes for each Forex pair symbol have to be added in manually somehow ... and if so, how ?

1. point value is always 1, tick increment - just look at TWS and see what the minimum tick is for pair

2. BT should take care of most of the traded pairs. If you entered symbol which is not set properly, just let me know.

Hi Larry

I'm trying to set up a BT to work with the usd.jpy. I have tried many ways but can't seen to get it to work. Could you help..I have had no problems setting up the other currency pairs but for some reason usd.jpy just not making it. Thanks in advance.

After looking at the recommended posts I'm assuming that the profit showed per pip is the value in yen not us dollars. Could you confirm that for me. If so could their be a way to have the p/l show in us dollars instead. Thanks again Larry..

As mentioned in the other post, the P/L is always in the currency after the "."

No way to show it in USD in BT at the moment - the P/L has to be converted back to USD using the current exchange rate.

I bought your bracket trader to use it with ib forex trader , GBP/JPY .
I do not know how to go past the first displayed windows .
