Hello,
i installed 2x BT in different folder and wanted follow your instruction: (one account)

Set the client ID (in the Preferences menu) in the 2 copies to different numbers.

now my question: where can I find in preferences client ID?

If you have only one account, copy the main program - BracketTrader.exe - in the C:\Program Files\Bracket Trader\2005 folder to a new blank folder and run the 2nd instance of Bracket Trader from there. Set the client ID (in the Preferences menu) in the 2 copies to different numbers. If you open 2 instances of Bracket Trader, the Hotkeys feature must be turned off.
