|
|
Having followed the instructions for BT simulation with Ensign Playback, it's almost working. What happens in BT is strange:
Bid = only shows full points (eg 713,0)
Last = only shows full poins (eg 713,0)
Ask = "follows the price", but for 713,0 it shows 713,0; for 713,5 it shows 5,0; for 713,1 it shows 10003636 and for 713,3 it shows 299987792 etc.
So Last only changes from 713,0 when price changes from 713,9 to 714 (Last then shown as 714,0) or from 713,0 to 712,9 (Last then show as 712,0).
In other words, something is not right, and it's not possible to simulation trade with.
Any ideas how I can fix this? |

Try changing your decimal separator to period.
There is no bid/ask data becuase the saved data does not have the bid/ask data. The situation is the same for Sierra playback.
You can get bid/ask data with eSignal playback. |

I have the same problem as Granville -> all half numbers are shown in BT as Ask = 5,00
eg. 1743,50 -> Ask = 5,00
To change the decimal separator to period doesn't solve the problem
This missinterpretation of the half numbers leads to following problems:
1) if price goes down a half number from 1744,00 to 1743,50 BT jumps to 1743 -> if you have set a Trailing Stop at 1743, you are stopped out, although the price never reaches this pricelevel and resumes the uptrend.
2) if you press the Buy Button when the price goes down a half number eg. from 1744,00 to 1743,50 BT simulates a Buy at 5,00 and if price resumes the uptrend to say 1745, you have made a huge profit of 1740 points!
Therefore till now it's useless to do simulation trading with ensign playback. It's more realistic only to scroll the chart bar by bar and notice your trading decisions and resulting Profits/Losses on a sheet of paper.

| The prices coming in from ENSIGN are formatted to "###,###.######". This could be the cause of the problem. |

Hi,
it seems that I have the same problem with the ES.
On BT using the playback it only shows round numbers.
Any solution? Do I have to switch something in Ensign? |

| Make sure that you have ES as the symbol on BT before switching to the playback. |
