|

Hello Larry
I have a question, I use TS2000i which generate the Entry signals file. But usually before my target is hitten TS generate an other signal on the oposite side so I need to reverse my position, and to do it I tryed sevaral options but none of them work.
When thevsignal on the oposite side is generated in TS I tried to:
1]generate a exit file with the double contract to reverse my position, it do not work because it only close the existing position.
2)generate an other entry file, it do not work because the signal is ignored.
3)generate both a exit file first and than an entry file on the same signal, it do not work because the two file are generated with the same time in the order file, only the second is ready by BT and ignore becase I am already in position.
Does it exit a solution to reverse a position with ATS (with a signal send by TS 2000i) to avoide to use the switch reverse.
Thank you Larry in advance for your help. |

Try programming a delay between the exit and entry signals. BT checks for signals every 200 msecs.
I'll see if I can add a "reverse" keyword. This can work if you are always in the market. |

Thanks Larry for your answer,
I will investigate how to introduce a delay between the two orders into tradestation, it was my idea as well. |

Has a solution been found for this problem ?
I have the same problem, and would like to BT to close out the existing first position and enter the new position on the arrival of the second signal for going in the other direction. Currently BT just ignores the second signal (for reversing) and continues on until the first position fails with a Stop-Loss.
This can be a lose-lose situation as you lose on the first position and then the second signal (which may be a winner in itself) simply gets ignored by BT and hence you lose another opportunity to make some $ on that position.
Any ideas appreciated. |
