Can’t remember, is the latest or any API included in the BT installer?

    Thanks

Hi Larry, I see not contact mail on your site so I am reaching out to you here. I have a few issues and queries, as follows:
    (1) I tried registering at the community to post my queries there but was unable to do so. This is where I get stuck: “enter a VIP code. The code can be found by clicking Help/Forum in the software you downloaded.” – clicking on Help –> Users Forum on BT client just opens up the Community page in a browser… so how do I get the VIP code and how do I register?

    (2) I have started trading futures recently and have been using your product a couple of months (the trial version). I have found it useful but have a couple of clarifications before I purchase the registration
    (a) I want to trade gold but do not see GC or YG in your symbol list. Ditto for CL. How can I add these? If I register will I be able to add this and trade these symbols?
    (b) I want to use a scaled stop loss method, not all in one shot. E.g. when trading 3 contracts I want to set my stoploss at 6 ticks for 1 contract, 9 ticks for 2nd contract and 12 ticks for 3rd contract. I do not see this possible in the version I have as a stop loss is fixed and applies to all of ‘n’ contracts. Can the functionality I described be done with the registered version or are you looking to include this soon?
    (c) I want to trade options for symbols through BT if possible. Equities like AAPL GOOG as well as ETFs and index options. Is this possible with the registered version or are you looking to include this soon?

    Thanks
    Ritwik

      1) sorry about that, the VIP code can be found in the Download page where you downloaded BT
2)(a) yes, you will be able to add any stocks futures or forex symbol once you register
      (b) no scaled stop loss (isn’t stop loss the point where you think your trade is wrong? – why have 3 separate stop losses and lose more?)
      (c) options not included, but I have a separate program which can trade options

        Thanks Larry,
I have registered for the forums, have a couple of followup questions.
2(b) scaled stop loss… because ES is a noisy and tricky instrument. I am sure you have had the experience where it stops you out to the tick and then reverses and races to your target while you sit wringing your hands . DOMEs like Ninjatrader offer the facility of setting both targets and stops for lots in 3 batches (T1/S1, T2/S2, T3/S3). That way you can navigate through the noise and stay in the game longer, at the same reducing your risk, if you have strong conviction about your trade. This would be a very valuable addition, esp for the kind of intraday swing trading that I look to do, please consider.

        c) Separate program which can trade options – interested in this. Where can I learn more about this?

        Thanks
        Ritwik

    Larry,

I am new to this software. Can it handle pairs trade strategies and is it possible to incorporate my own statistical algorithm generated signals (written in Java) into the automated trading strategy.

    • larrysy says:

The ATS can handle only one symbol at a time. You try setting up 2 BT’s, one for each member of the pair, but it’s more complicated.

    Hey Larry,
    what’s new in a91?
Does BT still notify of important updates?

    Cheers
